Chicago has dozens of hot dog joints, but there's only one Hot Doug's and the shop's namesake has written a book about his first 12 years in the business.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The real Sausage King of Chicago, Doug Sohn, is bringing back Hot Doug's for a festival.

For one weekend only in June, Sohn will pop-up his legendary restaurant at Goose Island Barrel Warehouse at 605 N. Sacramento.

"Since we closed last fall, the demand for a Hot Doug's comeback has been humbling," said Sohn. "I'm excited to give fans another taste of Hot Doug's - this time in a laid-back party atmosphere!"

Hot Doug's and Goose Island Beer Company are hosting The Dog Dayz of Summer, a new hot dog fest that pays homage to the classic Chicago dog on June 27 and 28. The Dog Dayz of Summer gives ticketed attendees the opportunity to taste the "best hits from Hot Doug's" in a festival setting.

Sohn said he will be curating a selection of his famous sausage sandwiches and iconic duck fat fries, as well as reprising his old role behind the counter, serving and chit-chatting with customers.
