More lane closures for Loop Link construction

CHICAGO (WLS) -- If you drive in the Loop, get ready for more lane closures beginning Tuesday.

Closures in place on Washington Street now will be extended from Clark to State Street.

It is all a part of the Loop Link transit project.

Washington will be temporarily reduced to two lanes from Wacker to State.

The Chicago Department of Transportation says drivers will still be able to access alleys and parking lots in the construction zone.

The goal of the Loop Link project is to create bus-only lanes, improve traffic flow and ease congestion.
