Evanston, Chicago on list of best & worst cities for baseball fans

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Personal finance website WalletHub named Evanston one of 2015's worst cities for baseball fans, while Chicago scored poorly on individual metrics like stadium accessibility and fan engagement.

The determine the rankings, WalletHub looked at 11 key metrics including the performance level of each city's teams, average ticket and minimum season ticket prices and stadium accessibility.

While Chicago ranked overall at no. 45, Evanston came in close to the bottom at no. 268 out of 272 cities.

Chicago also ranked among the worst teams across several individual metrics. Chicago is listed among the worst performing Major League Baseball teams, highest average ticket price for an MLB game, least accessible MLB stadiums, least accessible college baseball stadiums and least friendly and engaged college baseball fans. Overall, Chicago ranked no. 99 in the "Teams and Performance" category and no. 47 in the "Costs and Fan Engagement" rank.
