SCHERERVILLE, Ind. (WLS) -- Police said a traffic stop in northwest Indiana solved the case of power tools being stolen from cars in the parking lots of home improvement stores.

The traffic stop was outside a Lowes store in Schererville, Ind. Officers said they searched the vehicle and found tools stolen from a car at a Home Depot in suburban Homewood. Police arrested the three men in the car.

Investigators said the trio admitted to two other similar thefts and possible links to others are still being checked out.
