Truck driver ID'd, cited in Wilmington Amtrak train collision

WILMINGTON, Ill. (WLS) -- Wilmington Police have cited truck driver Keith Morris of Joliet, Ill., for disregarding a signal indicating the approach of a train, resulting in the collision that disrupted Amtrak service Friday.

Morris was identified by police in a press release Saturday morning. Police said a total of 11 people were transported to local hospitals with non-life threatening injuries

The Amtrak train carrying more than 200 people plowed through a semi-truck carrying mostly bacon on Friday afternoon. The train left San Antonio, Texas on Thursday and was headed for Chicago. The accident happened about 60 miles southwest of the city.
