Truck driver held up at gunpoint in Ind.; robber gets $6

A man who robbed a truck driver at an Indiana gas station really made a profit on his crime.

The LaPorte County Sheriff's Office is investigating the Monday morning armed robbery near the Porter-LaPorte county line.

Around 5:30 a.m., police were called to Gallop's Marathon at 1615 W US 20. Police say a 59-year-old LaPorte, Ind., truck driver was sitting in the cab of the semi-tractor when the suspect opened the door and pointed a small caliber chrome handgun. The suspect demanded money from the victim, who gave the suspect what he had in his wallet - a total of $6, police said.

The suspect the fled the area on foot north on County Line Road and then east on Earl Road.

The suspect is described as a white male, thin build with facial hair on his chin, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.
