CHICAGO (WLS) -- Yoko Ono is giving some of her artwork to Chicago.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel announces the gift from John Lennon's widow at an event in Jackson Park around noon Friday.

The South Side park in the Woodlawn neighborhood is where the piece, called "Sky Landing," will be installed. The installation will be Ono's first permanent public art display in the U.S.

"Sky Landing" will be in the Garden of the Phoenix in Jackson Park. Ono said it's designed to be a place of congregation and contemplation.

The artwork is part of the revitalized landscape in the garden, which is expected to be unveiled a year from now.
