NAPERVILLE, Ill. (WLS) -- Retired Naperville Mayor George Pradel may be out of office, but his duties for the city are far from over thanks to a new job title.

On Tuesday night, Naperville's city council voted to create an honorary "mayor emeritus" position for Pradel. New Mayor Steve Chirico asked his staff to create the unpaid position.

The title will allow Pradel to represent the city at ribbon cuttings, fundraisers and other events that Mayor Chirico is unable to attend.
