Burglars steal cash, jewelry from Rogers Park bedrooms

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Police are warning residents of Chicago's Rogers Park neighborhood of three residential burglaries in the last month.

Authorities said in each case, thieves went through dresser drawers in the homeowners' bedrooms and stole cash and jewelry. In one incident, they kicked open locked bedroom doors.

Most of the burglaries occurred during morning and afternoon hours, when residents were at work.

The first home was burglarized in the 1700-block of West North Shore Avenue between May 22 and May 24. The second was burglarized in the 6700-block of North Hermitage Avenue on June 3. The third was burglarized in the 1700-block of West Wallen Avenue on June 9.

Police do not have a description of the suspects.
