CHICAGO (WLS) -- Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream shops reopened Saturday after production of its ice cream was halted because of a listeria contamination.

The most recent incident was the second time since April that the Ohio-based company had to close because of the bacteria.

The company's production plant remains closed. Jeni's is making ice cream in a different location. The chain has stores in seven states, including two here in Chicago's Lakeview and Wicker Park neighborhoods.
