2 dead, several injured in Bridgeview crash
Two people are dead and several others injured in a collision in the southwest suburbs Sunday.

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. (WLS) -- An elderly man killed in a crash in southwest suburban Bridgeview was identified as Francis J. Iglinkski, 80.

An 85-year-old woman was also killed in the collision. Her name has not yet been released. Several others were injured.

Police said a Chrysler minivan heading south on Harlem Avenue lost control, went over the median and struck a car near West 96th Street around 3:10 p.m. Sunday.

The Cook County medical examiner said Iglinkski, of the 4500-block of South Wallace Street in Chicago, was pronounced dead at 5:20 p.m. Sunday.

Six people were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center. Some of them were children.

Harlem Avenue was closed to traffic for about five hours as accident reconstruction experts conducted their investigation.

Bridgeview police are looking into the cause of the crash.
