NORTH UTICA, Ill. (WLS) -- Visitors to Starved Rock State Park are being urged to use caution as a result of flooding in the area.

The park and its hiking trails are open, but flooding is limiting access for visitors.

The main parking lot, visitor center, the boat ramp and picnic areas are closed due to recent rains. Swimming and wading are also not allowed.

There is alternate parking at the Starved Rock Lodge at the park's State Route 71 entrance.

Starved Rock's canyons, hiking trails and waterfalls draw about 2 million visitors each year.
