Newsviews: Supreme Court ruling on gay marriage

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Supreme Court passed a historic decision on gay marriage this week, declaring that same-sex couples have the right to marry in all 50 states.

Same-sex marriage is already legal in 36 states - including Illinois - and the District of Columbia. The ruling extends that right to people living in the remaining 14 states.

Joining us to talk about the decision and what it means beyond the right to marry are Jim Bennett, Midwest Regional Director for Lambda Legal, and Harold Krent, dean of the Chicago Kent College of Law.
