CHICAGO (WLS) -- A reward is being offered after the bust of a Filipino National hero was stolen from a community center on Chicago's North Side.

The bust is that of Dr. Jose Rizal was a poet, novelist and political leader in the Philippines. It sat outside the Rizal Center on Irving Park Road.

According to witnesses, the bust was taken in the early morning hours of June 16. The president of the Rizal Center says a group of kids may be responsible.

"Having this stolen from us is really very sad for all the community of Filipinos," said Dr. Rufino Crisostomo.

A $700 reward is being offered for its return, which can be made with no questions asked.
