CHICAGO (WLS) -- Four people have been charged in an alleged scheme to illegally occupy and rent out foreclosed properties in Chicago, Cook County State's Attorney Anita Alvarez announced Wednesday.

The scheme involved 14 properties in Chicago neighborhoods, officials said.

"Under the guise of an anti- government movement, these individuals are targeting foreclosed home and essentially breaking into them and filing bogus documents with the county," Alvarez said during a press conference.

David Farr, 40, of Chicago; Torrez Moore, 55, of Chicago, and Raymond Trimble, 52, of Markham face felony charges of theft, burglary and financial institution fraud. A fourth defendant, Arshad Thomas, 26, is also charged with one count of Burglary.
