ITASCA, Ill. (WLS) -- Three ramps connecting I-290 to Route 390, formerly known as the Elgin O'Hare Expressway, are scheduled to open in time for Monday morning's commute.
Crews will be putting the finishing touches on the ramps at the new I-290 interchange over the weekend, if the weather cooperates.
Illinois Tollway officials said the ramps will improve traffic flow in the western suburbs as part of the Elgin O'Hare Western Access Project.
When the project is complete in 2017, officials said there will be a total of 17 new ramps and 15 new bridges.
