CHICAGO (WLS) -- A watchdog group is warning consumers about a switch in electric service that could lead to some bad offers.

About 600,000 households will be switching from Constellation Energy to ComEd in the next couple of months, and that could lead to some aggressive sales pitches from alternative power suppliers.

"Do not give out your electric bill or your account number to an alternative supplier. That's an invitation to an unethical marketer to switch your service without your consent," said Jim Chilsen, Citizens Utility Board.

You can compare electricity prices using the Citizens Utility Board's Power Deal Calculator.
