LOCKPORT, Ill. (WLS) -- A southwest suburban boy urged his community to show their support for police officers.

Aidan tucker, 9, organized a "Blue Lives Matter" march in Lockport, Ill. on Saturday.

He said he was upset that so many people don't like police after seeing the shootings of officers in Dallas and Baton Rouge, so Aidan decided to organize a march to Lockport's police station.

"They're just people who are doing a job, they're not really doing anything wrong...police are actually very nice and good and get tons of support," Aidan said.

Aidan also presented the department with a plaque he created with the help of a local business.
