PROSPECT HEIGHTS, Ill. (WLS) -- Mr. Reese is getting ready for adoption day, thanks to his microchip.

The dog was stolen during a burglary at Heartland Animal Shelter in Prospect Heights on Sunday. On Tuesday, the Jack Russel Terrier mix was found by the staff at Glenbrook Hospital in Glenview.

A microchip confirmed the dog as Mr. Reese, and he is now back at the shelter. His adoption is pending.

Prospect Heights police are investigating the burglary.
