VERNON HILLS, Ill. (WLS) -- Police in north suburban Vernon Hills are searching for a vehicle allegedly involved in a hit-and-run crash, officials said.
A vehicle traveling southbound on Oakwood Road allegedly struck a pedestrian near Valley Road around 3:30 a.m. Saturday, police said. The pedestrian, a 23-year-old, was able to walk to a nearby house for help but was hospitalized with serious injuries.
Police believe the vehicle is a 1999-2005 Volkswagen Jetta with front end damage on the driver's side. The vehicle's color is unknown.
