Man in custody after Elgin barricade situation ends

ELGIN, Ill. (WLS) -- A man is custody after a barricade situation in west suburban Elgin was resolved peacefully Monday morning.

Officers responded to a home in the 1000-block of Dundee Avenue around 3 a.m. Monday.

Police said a man and three children came out of the home safely around five hours later. The man was taken into custody. Authorities said it was a domestic disturbance.

All roads in the area have reopened.
