Group hosts exchange for crib bumper pads

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WLS) -- There's a new push to get parents to remove baby bumpers from cribs.

A group called Kids in Danger exchanged safe sleep kits for the baby bumpers at the Humboldt Park boathouse on Monday.

The bumpers are already illegal to sell in the city of Chicago, but many families still have them in their homes.

The exchanged bumpers are going to Chicago's Anti-Cruelty Society for the dogs and cats there.
