CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man tried to lure a 13-year-old boy into his car in Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood, police said.

A community alert said the boy was walking in the 2100-block of North Lawndale Avenue around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday. A man with a mohawk and a mustache driving a white, four-door vehicle and asked for directions.

Police said when the child couldn't help him the man offered money and opened his door to get out of the car. The boy ran away.
