CHICAGO (WLS) -- With the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina in mind, the Red Cross taught some children Saturday how to get prepared in the event of an emergency.

The special program was presented at Robert Morris University on South State Street.

The Red Cross recommends that kids fill a pillowcase with essential items for survival during an emergency.

Saturday's event was sponsored by Disney, the parent company of ABC7.
