HOMER GLEN, Ill. (WLS) -- A rabid bat was caught inside a home in southwest suburban Will County this week, officials said.

Animal control officials caught one bat flying around a bedroom Sunday at a home on West Oak Court in Homer Glen.

Officials confirmed this week that the bat was rabid.

Experts say the bats must be attracted to wooded areas with sources of food and water.

They warn more incidents like this are possible.
