Police warn of armed robberies in Lakeview

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Police are warning Lakeview residents about a series of armed robberies reported in the area throughout August.

During the incidents, police say offenders approached the victims, displayed a gun and demanded property. Robberies were reported at the following locations:

  • 3200-block of N. Seminary Ave. on Aug. 22 at 11:55 p.m.; police say three offenders exited a silver four-door sedan, displayed a handgun and demanded property. The offenders were described as African American men in their 20s.
  • 2300-block of W. School St. on Aug. 27 at 9:20 p.m.; An African American man in his 20s wearing a camouflaged zip-up hooded sweatshirt and jeans.
  • 3100-block of N. Kenmore Ave. on Aug. 30 at 12:35 a.m.; Two African American men came out of the alley and demanded property from the victim at gunpoint, police say. One man was described as 20-25 years old, 5-foot-7 weighing around 150 pounds. The other man is described as the same age, 6 feet tall and 160 pounds.
