Sketch released of suspect in sex assault of jogger near Joliet

ROCKDALE, Ill. (WLS) -- Illinois State Police released a sketch of a man suspected in the sex assault of a jogger on a bike trail between Joliet and Rockdale.

The alleged attack occurred along the Illinois & Michigan Canal State Trail between South Brandon Road and South Larkin Avenue around 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

Police said the suspect reportedly jumped out of the bushes and threatened the victim with a knife before sexually assaulting her.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male with a heavy accent in his late 20s to early 30s. He is described as being between 5-feet-8-inches and five-feet-10-inches tall. He was wearing dark sweatpants, a white t-shirt and a long sleeved orange shirt.
