The average price of gas is down 27 cents over the past three weeks nationwide.
That puts it at $2.44 a gallon, according to analyst Trilby Lundberg.
Around the Chicago area, the average is closer to $2.72.
If crude oil prices don't skyrocket, more price drops could be around the corner because the change to winter grade comes with a cost cut in much of the country.
