Police warn of burglaries in Rogers Park

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Police are warning Rogers Park residents after a series of commercial burglaries were reported in the area.

Police say the burglaries have happened in the overnight hours, with the suspect throwing a rock or brick through a front or side door. Cash from a cash register was also stolen.

Burglaries were reported at the following locations:

  • 1200-block of W. Devon Ave. between Sept. 8-9, between 10:30 p.m.-10:30 a.m.
  • 6100-block of N. Broadway on Sept. 9 between 3 a.m.-3:45 a.m.
  • 1400-block of W. Morse Ave. on Sept. 14, at 4:49 a.m.

The offender in the Morse incident is described as a white male between 35 and 40-years-old. Police say the suspect is between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-8 and weighs 160-170 lbs.
