AT&T is the last major cellphone service provider to do away with contracts, which will change the way users pay for smartphones.

The cost of a new cell previously was subsidized into a two-year plan.

Now, costumers will either have to pay for the phone up front, or set up a payment plan.

AT&T said getting rid of contracts will actually make your monthly plan cheaper.
