CHICAGO (WLS) -- A Bolingbrook man was sentenced Friday to 47 years in prison for running a sex trafficking ring in 2010, U.S. Attorney's officials said.

McKenzie Carson, 43, was convicted of four counts of sex trafficking in 2013.

Carson used threats, physical beatings and heroin to control the four prostitution victims, officials said. One of the victims was 17 at the time.

He also raped victims who disobeyed him, and kept money they earned from committing sex acts.

Carson, who also sometimes worked as a taxi driver in the Chicago area, has been in federal custody without bond since his 2012 arrest.
