CHICAGO (WLS) -- A stretch of a Chicago street is now named for jazz singer Dinah Washington.

Friday would have been her 90th birthday. She died in 1963 at the age of 39.

Musicians and other fans gathered to mark the honorary naming of Prairie Avenue in front of Wendell Phillips Academy High School, where she attended classes.
