Calumet Heights building fire kills 1

CHICAGO (WLS) -- One man is dead after a fire in the city's Calumet Heights neighborhood.

Officials say the fire, which has been struck out, began around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in a three-story building in the 9100-block of South Crandon.

The body of a man in his 60s, who officials say had mobility problems, was found in the first floor of the building near the door. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Fire officials said no smoke detectors were found in the home.

No other details have been released.
