FOREST PARK, Ill. (WLS) -- A Chicago man passing out political flyers in the suburbs is accused of stealing packages while on the job.

Forest Park police say Dexter Higgs was going door to door. But when he found a package on a doorstep he would open it up. And if he liked what was inside, he'd keep it.

Police say Higgs was not working for any particular campaign.

He is charged with three counts of misdemeanor theft.
