Charges upgraded for teacher accused of sending inappropriate texts to student

BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. (WLS) -- Charges were upgraded this week against a former Buffalo Grove High School teacher accused of stalking a female student, officials said.

Panagiotis Georgitsis, 43, of Elgin, is accused of sending inappropriate text messages to a 16-year old student.

Georgitsis resigned from Buffalo Grove High School when confronted by school officials earlier this year.

He was initially charged with disorderly conduct.

Now, he is also charged with felony stalking.
