CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 72-year-old woman has been released from the hospital after she says she was attacked by a dog on Chicago's West Side.

Shirley Spears said she was in the laundry room of her condo building on North Normandy when a neighbor's dog jumped on her. She was bitten on the arms and legs before the dog's owner pulled it off of her.

The dog has been removed from the condo complex, but her family says police have not done enough.

"I'd like to see the police come out, interview the people downstairs, view the dog, understand what's going on with that dog and how aggressive that dog is," said Darryl Riviera, victim's son.

Spears was hospitalized overnight. Police said they are still investigating the case.
