City of Chicago to mail letters to 'problem landlords'

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The City of Chicago will begin mailing letters this week to the 59 building owners at 45 properties who were placed on its Problem Landlord List.

They will be told why they are on the list and the consequences they face for failing to provide basic services and protections for their tenants.

The worst cases may be taken to foreclosure court and owners could lose their properties.
