Company sues Illinois Dept. of Agriculture over denied medical marijuana license

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WLS) -- A company that wants to get into the medical marijuana business, called PMRX, is suing the Illinois Department of Agriculture, claiming the state didn't follow its own rules when it chose companies to grow cannabis.

Another company won the license PRMX applied for.

PRMX says the state didn't complete background checks or properly score the applications.

The lawsuit seeks an injunction and an order that the state rescore the applications.
