CPD Interim Supt. Eddie Johnson pledges to wear body camera

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago's Interim Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson says he plans to wear a body camera while he is on patrol starting this week.

Johnson has also ordered his command staff to wear cameras on patrol. And the police department announced that more than 450 body cameras are being shipped to Chicago as part of a pilot program

Mayor Rahm Emanuel says "the body cameras represent an important step forward as the work of restoring trust and accountability in the department continues."
