Credit card surcharge proposed for Chicago cabs

CHICAGO (WLS) -- There's a proposal in Chicago to charge passengers an extra 50 cents if they use a credit card to pay for a cab ride.

Alderman Anthony Beale says it would help drivers cover the fees they're charged by credit card companies. He also says it's a way to help cabbies who are competing with ride share companies, such as Uber.
