CHICAGO (WLS) -- Service on the CTA Blue Line has resumed with residual delays on the O'Hare branch after police say a man was fatally struck on the city's Northwest Side.

A CTA spokesperson said he was struck by an outbound Blue Line train around 8:18 p.m. Thursday at the Jefferson Park station. Police have not released his identity.

Trains were stopped in both directions and shuttles were used to bus passengers between Harlem and California for about 2.5 hours Thursday evening.

Trains were bypassing the Jefferson Park station late Thursday. The CTA said customers can use shuttle buses, the #56 bus or #85 bus as an alternative.
