CTA to launch prepaid bus fare program

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The CTA will soon try out something new to help speed up the ride through downtown for commuters who ride the bus.

A pilot program is being rolled out at the Loop Link bus station at Madison and Dearborn.

Starting during the evening rush next Monday, riders will have to pre-pay their bus fare. That way when the bus shows up, they can get on right away.

If it's a success, the program could be expanded across the city.
