Derrick Rose's attorney calls Jane Doe the 'shot caller'

LOS ANGELES -- NBA star Derrick Rose arrived to federal court early Tuesday morning in downtown Los Angeles, nearly two weeks after a sexual battery lawsuit against him and two friends went to trial.

Closing arguments concluded on Tuesday, as Rose's defense attorney called Jane Doe "a liar" and the "shot caller," in reference to the 2013 incident in which the accuser claims she was raped at her own apartment by Rose, Randall Hampton and Ryan Allen following a sex-filled party at Rose's rental property in Beverly Hills hours early.

The sex itself wasn't disputed, though all three defendants denied the rape accusations, stating what happened was consensual.

Responding to inconsistencies in the testimony of all three defendants, Rose's attorney told the jury that each man's account of what occurred that night and early morning may in fact differ, because it was all true and not choreographed.

The defense team alleged the accuser invited the men over and let them in with the intent to have sex. Rose's attorney alleged the lawsuit was just an attempt by the plaintiff to get money from his client.

The plaintiff's attorney painted a different picture to the jury, calling it a classic case of gang rape, stating his client was incapacitated.

The lawsuit, her attorney told the jury, was the only way to hold the three men accountable.

The jury will decide the three claims against Rose, Hampton and Allen, which include sexual battery, battery, and trespassing.
