Eisenhower Expressway ramp closed for repairs after flooding

BROADVIEW, Ill. (WLS) -- A ramp on the Eisenhower Expressway (I-290) is temporarily closed to repair a collapsed storm sewer, Illinois Department of Transportation officials said.

The closure is located on the southbound ramp at 25th Avenue to eastbound I-290, and will continue until later Thursday afternoon, IDOT officials said.

The collapsed sewer was discovered during an inspection of the area Wednesday following flooding that shut down a nearby viaduct during heavy rains on Tuesday.

There are no anticipated impacts to lanes on I-290, officials said.
