Eisenhower Expressway lanes reopened at Independence after woman rescued

The Eisenhower Expressway outbound lanes were closed at Independence as police helped a woman threatening to jump from an overpass. All lanes reopened shortly before 9 a.m.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- All lanes of the Eisenhower Expressway have reopened at Independence are police rescued a person on an overpass, Illinois State Police say.

Emergency crews were able to coax down a woman who was threatening to jump of an overpass "without incident," officials say. She is being evaluated at a hospital.

Traffic is now moving freely.
