Elementary school briefly locked down after South Side shooting

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Two men were shot and one seriously injured near Harold L. Ickes homes on the city's South Side, prompting a lockdown for several hours at a nearby elementary school, Chicago police said.

The shooting took place around 1 p.m. in the 2600-block of South Federal Street in the city's Douglas neighborhood. A 21-year-old mas shot in the face and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious condition. A 27-year-old man was shot in the buttocks and taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in stable condition.

Drake Elementary School was placed on lockdown for several hours while police searched for suspects. Four people, three males and one female, were taken into custody after the shooting, police said. Police said they are questioning three people of interest. No charges have yet been filed.
