Increased security at Chicago Canadian Consulate
Chicago police are providing increased security around the Canadian Consulate in Chicago in the wake of shootings in Ottowa.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police have stepped up security around the Canadian Consulate in Chicago in the wake of shootings in and around the Canadian Parliament in Ottawa Wednesday.

Chicago police are providing extra patrols around the consulate building. The consulate is still open for business but is operating under strict security protocols, which limit entry to those with specific business.

The Canadian Consulate in Chicago handles minor diplomatic business for Missouri, Indiana, Illinois and Wisconsin.
