Family searching for missing Oswego soldier believed to have PTSD

FORT CARSON, Colo. (WLS) -- A suburban soldier and Afghanistan combat veteran is missing from his post. The ABC7 I-Team has learned his family fears he may be struggling with post-traumatic stress disorder.

Daniel Domres, 20, of Oswego went missing from Fort Carson, Colorado early last week. His family has begun a search for him in Colorado and in the Chicago area, both in person and on social media.

"We're concerned about his safety, that he is going to hurt himself, he is not in his right mind. On Monday of last week he missed formation. They went and they found him and he was drunk and they brought him in for testing and he was able to walk out of there and hasn't been seen since. Danny, we love you, we are trying desperately to find you. Call us, we will help you," said Julie Dumres, mother.

Domres is a 2012 graduate of Oswego High School. He is described as 5-feet 9-inches tall, 155 pounds and was last seen wearing his Army Combat Uniform.

He was spotted at a Walmart in Colorado last week, but his parents think he may return to Oswego where all of his friends still live.
