CHICAGO (WLS) -- A FedEx truck was stolen Friday afternoon on Chicago's South Side and ditched a few miles away on the South Side, police said.

The truck was found abandoned near the West 47th Street and the Dan Ryan Expressway in the Fuller Park neighborhood.

Packages were still in the truck, but it was immediately unclear how many packages were stolen. The back door of the truck was left open.

Chicago police had no one in custody late Friday.

The incident started in the 6400-block of South May when a man approached a 35-year-old female FedEx driver and demanded the vehicle. The driver was not injured.
