Southwest flight from Chicago makes emergency landing in Kansas City

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A flight that took off from Chicago's Midway Airport made an emergency landing in Kansas City Wednesday afternoon.

Southwest flight #1265 was on its way to Austin, Texas, when officials said it began experiencing severe turbulence.

The plane was able to land safely. Southwest officials said the plane is being checked out and is expected to continue on to Austin.

No one on board was injured.
